Terms of service

Plain terms for a small site. If anything here is unclear, email and ask.

Who runs WARSCAPE

WARSCAPE is run by Ardit Avdylaj, an individual trading as WARSCAPE, based in Kosovo. Contact: teamwarscape@gmail.com. There is no company behind it. By using the site you agree to these terms.

What WARSCAPE is, and what it is not

WARSCAPE is a simulator. It runs a deterministic, seeded model over public, country-level figures such as published personnel and equipment counts, defence budgets, terrain and season, and shows the result on a map.

  • It is not a prediction. A result says what this model does with these inputs, nothing more.
  • It is not intelligence, military advice, or an operational tool. It uses no classified, leaked, real-time or target-level information, and it does not produce any.
  • It is not news. Outcomes are generated by software, including the written summaries.
  • It is not financial, legal or policy advice, and must not be relied on for any real decision.

Every scenario is hypothetical and chosen by the person running it. Nothing on the site is a statement about what any country intends to do.

Your account

An account needs a working email address and a password. Keep the password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time by emailing us, and we will remove it and the simulations attached to it.

Fair use

Do not do any of the following:

  • Break the site, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others, or work around rate limits and access controls.
  • Resell or redistribute the output as though it were factual reporting or genuine intelligence.
  • Present a simulation as a real event, a forecast, or the position of any government or organisation.
  • Use the site to harass anyone, or to target a real person.

Accounts that do these things can be closed without notice.

It is free

WARSCAPE is free to use, with no paid plan. The simulator and everything built on it are unlimited, and no account is needed to read them. The Warscape Briefing, our email newsletter, is free too. You only receive it if you subscribe, and every email has a link to unsubscribe.

Future editions of the briefing may include a clearly labelled message from a sponsor. Sponsors never see who is subscribed.

Availability and changes

This is a small site run by one person. It may be slow, go down, or change without notice, and model results can change between versions as the data and the engine are revised.

Your content and ours

The scenarios you build remain yours. You give us permission to store and process them so the site can run, and to show a shared simulation to anyone who has its link. The software, the written output, the maps and the design are ours. The underlying source data belongs to whoever published it and is credited on the data sources page.

Liability

The site is provided as is, with no warranty that results are accurate, complete or fit for any purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using it or relying on its output. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited. If we are found liable despite the above, our total liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Kosovo, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not take away rights you have under the mandatory law of the country you live in.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top always shows the current version. If a change materially affects paying subscribers, we will email them before it takes effect.
